Service Animals
- The Lynchburg Amphitheater at Riverfront Park welcomes guests with disabilities who are accompanied by service dogs trained to perform specific tasks. This policy is consistent with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and is intended to ensure equal access while maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for all visitors.
- What Is a Service Dog? Under the ADA, a service dog is a dog (and in limited circumstances, a miniature horse) that is individually trained to do work or perform specific tasks for a person with a disability. The task(s) the dog is trained to perform must be directly related to the person’s disability.
- A service dog must behave appropriately in public. This means the dog must: Remain quiet or under control, not jump on, lunge at, or otherwise interfere with other guests, and not display aggressive behavior. If a service dog is out of control, not housebroken, or repeatedly disruptive, amphitheater staff may ask that the animal be removed. The handler must still be offered access to the event without the service dog, where feasible.
